Evening At Our House

The girls and I came up with a special treat we thought to share with every one. :D  Peaches are in at our Farmer's Market and we made the best of it!
First, peel the peach.  Then slice.  Put the slices in a sauce pan with just a sprinkling of sugar.  Warm thoroughly.  Put Vanilla Ice Cream in bowl and top with peaches!  Viola!  Tremendously yummy. Enjoy. :)

After the sweet, we were off for an evening of exercise.  Our girls have taken to riding one bike over to the park.  Had to get a pic of this. :p  They swing and play while I walk around the track.  It was a great evening.  We all came home tired.

An Afternoon at the Beach!

This is our Mother/Daughter weekend. :D  Adam went away for the whole day on his once a year get-a-way from it all.  (I had mine earlier this year at a women's conference.)
So, today the girls and I have gone to the farmer's market, to the beach for hours, to the mall for biscotti and coffee then we shopped for three hours.
We ended up at Pizza Hut instead of the home cooked meal (it will keep until Monday night) and then off to a 9:30 pm movie.  Fun, fun.  Here are a few pics of our time at the beach.
I think I could keep them this age forever!  What fun they are!

I sent them up to get all of us some ice cream after an hour or so and then I finally got a chance to read for a bit, while they swam.  A great day was had by all!

Making Veggie Soup

The girls and I had such fun together today.   The veggies we got at the farmer's market this morning went into our veggie soup for dinner.  With some homemade kefir rolls on the side...this was soooooo yummy.  It's proof that children will eat anything if they get to help making it.  (The soup contained: tomatoes, leeks, garlic, carrots, potatoes, celery and wax beans.)  We finished the meal with blueberries & sugar covered with milk.  So yummy.

New Pets!!!

This afternoon we went out after Sammie's new fish.  She can't have the sharks for 6 more weeks, so, we got six other fish that can co-habitate with the sharks when they get here.  While there Alex decided she would like a hermit crab for her room. :)  His name is Hermie...and we all just love him.

A Walk To Our Local Farmer's Market

We woke up with alarms this morning ON PURPOSE! :p
We have an agenda today.  After getting Daddy off to work, we set out to walk to our local farmer's market to get a fruit to go with breakfast and some veggies for our homemade soup tonight.
It was extremely warm, even at 9:30 am, but it was worth the walk.

We passed the new bakery and decided to bake at home this morning, after we spotted the fresh blueberries!
Aren't all the fresh veggies pretty!?!?!  Our girls love getting to pick out their bunch to come home with.  Alex picked our blueberries and Sam the waxed beans.
Then it was back home to bake some yummy blueberry muffins. :D  Yummmmmmmmm.  Sam waited with me in the kitchen sipping her coffee.  (which is mostly soy milk...LOL, but she loves it!)  Alex played on the defender cabinet.

You can see a bit our moving things about in that picture.  The cabinet is in our living room for the time being. ;)  Alex said she loves it this way so much better.  I think truth be told, we all do.  We are such a crazy bunch!:D

The fresh blueberry muffins were amazing.  The scent of them brought Alex into the kitchen with Sam and I.   What a pleasant morning...now we are off to get Sam's new fish!  Wish us luck! :)

The Girl's New Bedroom Additions

We have had a lot of changes taking place in our home as of late.  With electric heat coming in to save money this winter, we ended up having to get rid of our couch.  We moved all of Adam's stuff out of our back bedroom into our living room (for the next 6 months) and let the girls have their own rooms again.
They couldn't be more different.  Sammie has wanted to study sharks since...well...as long as she's been able to talk about them.  So, she now has her own fish tank in her own bedroom and in 4 to 6 weeks when the water is ready to house them...she will be getting her first two sharks.  She can have other fish in there with them, but has to wait until Saturday to add those.  Last night was her first night with the tank set up and she left her fan on low to listen to the water gurgling.  She said she kept getting up because it sometimes looked like there were fish in there.  She is soooooooo excited for Saturday. :D

Conversely, Alex wrinkles her nose at the thought of cleaning up after fish.  LOL  She is in love with Tinker Bell and her bedroom is proof of just how much!  :D
I still have to touch up the paint in both bedrooms and will take more pictures of these rooms, (her valance just went up today), but for now I thought I would add just these two to show our progress!

God is good.

Birthday Presents from Trip

Here are two of the items I picked up while in Vermont.  One small qtip holder for the bathroom (my other was silver and had tarnished) and very small colander for the kitchen.  When I see them or get to use them I am reminded of our wonderful trip! :)

Saturday Get-A-Way

It's my birthday today! :D  I'm 36 years old and happier than I can ever remember being.  I'm thinking the best is yet to come!

Adam and I (thanks to Mom and Dad Conn watching our girls ) were able to go away to Burlington, VT on Saturday. :D  Here are pics of our time together!

Once we arrived in Plattsburgh, we spent almost two hours looking around Ausable Chasm and decided this was definitely our next vacation with the girls.  (horse back riding and white water rafting!!!)    But while here, we had lunch and enjoyed a lot of the scenery...walking about a mile on their trails.

Then we were off to Vermont!  This was a fun adventure all it's own, walking the downtown, farmer's market, shopping at the mall ... Jeremy can you guess what store I went shopping at while there?  :D  Teehee.

On our way home Adam took me to the Butcher's Block Steak and Seafood restaurant in Plattsburg.   Adam had Prime Rib with Scallops and I opted for the special of Delmonico Steak.  Out of this world!!!!

On to the mall in Plattsburgh until it closed and then home again.  It was the best birthday on record!  Thanks Mom and Dad Conn for the get-a-way alone time.  Thank you Adam for making everyday an adventure!  I love you!  It was the best!!!!
