Alex's last art class project for Freshman year

Alex is really growing as an artist with each piece of work she does.  This was the last one she did for her class at school this year.  I never got a picture of her final picture before she took it to school, but once she gets it back, we will have this one framed for her bedroom wall.  :)

Alex's Art

Alex's most recent passion is the Hobbit.  I think she has seen the second in the series three times since it has been in the theater and I know the 10 hours of background documentaries by heart now.  :)  Here is some of her latest art work, An Elf King and Thorin, King of the Dwarves.

My most recent project and thoughts...

After our Christmas office party, where I was given a lot of new yarn and needles as a gift, I began a new project.  I am crocheting this blanket in memory of my Nanny Caron.  She would always use the scraps.   She would save every piece of yarn (she grew up in the great depression) and use them to make the most interesting striped blankets.  I loved them.  So this one is going to have lots of stripes and I'm going to use new and pieces left over for this one.  Thinking of my Nanny and all she taught me over the years as I create.  Love you Nan.

Alex turns 15!!!!

Alex turned 15 this year.  Her birthday gifts started early and just kept coming.  :D  Daddy came in with a Lord of the Rings box set for her to start the break off with something fun to watch.  On Sunday when we were all together, I let her open my gift... scuffs frm LLBean.  Randomly we will get a catalog and she will circle something she likes, these were her most recent selection. :)  On her actual birthday she received gifts from everyone else! :D  Thanks to everyone who made this day so special for her.

A peaceful moment in time...

A day in our life when everyone is home.  Alex is curled up watching the Hobbit with Sammie programming something on her music program.  Adam organizing his blue rays and me... I'm in my fav spot... stretched out on the couch with my kitty beside me.
Life is good!
