Boldt Castle

We stepped off the boat and began our steady walk up the island to find that we had chosen a day that Boldt Castle was hosting a Wine & Cheese tasting event...along with a wedding. Both were extremely enjoyable to be a part of while we took in all of the island and learned of the home's history.

Much of the home is not finished, but here are some pictures of the rooms that are.

The library is always my favorite place in a home like this. The fire places in every room were just immense!
This one upstairs bedroom that was finished seemed very romantic, with river views from all four windows, a fire place and a private bath.
When looking straight up the central staircase, this it the ceiling. Just gorgeous!

We finally reached the very top...after starting in the basement...and I was exhausted! Thank God for the elevator going down. :D Boldt Castle was such fun.

Our Exciting Adventure...

to Alex Bay and Boldt Castle. We woke up early on Saturday morning, had a big breakfast with our girls and sent them off with Grandpa & Grandma for the weekend. After they left we puttered for about an hour and then we began talking..."What are we going to do with this time together?" We thought of Ottawa...and Albany...Burlington and then Lake Placid. We settled on Alex Bay. :) What an amazing day we had together. The weather could not have been better, the trip down and back peaceful...the views, breeze on the water and being together was something we will remember always.

Adam had to snuggle me on the boat tours. Even though it was sunny and warm...the breeze on the water is much cooler, even in my coat! (Every breath I took would fog up my glasses. Teehee....good times. I loved it!)

As the tour began to turn back towards Boldt Castle we could see the bridge to Canada in the distance. The views were simply amazing.

Our Girls...

and their weekend away with Grandma & Grandpa! :) What fun they are having! We are so blessed.

Sweet Finds....

at our local Harvest Festival downtown today. A very nice woman was selling these adorable pot holders and another was selling these fabric coasters. I fell in love with both. :D I was very pleased with how they matched the rooms I picked them for. Good times.
