The first snow of the winter!

Alex went out to play in our first snow fall. I went through one door and couldn't find her and tried the other, only to surprise her and she slipped. :D Classic family pic! Don't you just love the smile on a kids face when there is snow to play in!?!?!?!?

Sam After her Band Concert

Sam sat around the back side of the stage this time and couldn't really be seen at all for pictures during the performance. Alex took these pictures of Sam with some of her closest friends after backstage.

Santa Downtown

Alex played downtown with the 8th grade band, during a visit from Santa for all the younger children in our town. I was suppose to go and volunteer for helping with the children and get to watch Alex perform, but I have been sicker than a dog for about 12 days straight. Adam took our girls down and Sam video taped everything for me. Alex did a great job, I just love watching our girls grow up.

Current Crocheting Projects

I am currently working on three crocheting projects at once. A blue and white baby blanket for a pregnant co-worker, a blue and multi colored striped blanket for myself and a new scarf. I have so many scarves it isn't funny, but as I use them all...I keep making more. :D

Just thought I'd share the fun I've been having with it lately.

Halloween Thoughts...

It is getting colder by the day and we know it's only a matter of time until the snow flies. :) I love it!

Everything in the Northeast is going well. In an economy where everyone is hunting for work, Adam and I have steady employment. Our girls are healthy and happy, pursuing their individual interests. Life is good.

With a football game for Sammie to cheer at and a day together alone with Adam, Alex & I, it is shaping up to be a peaceful weekend of relaxation and family moments.

Our girls are too old to trick or treat now (I keep having to enforce this with each of them, but they are). :p LOL
So, we will be watching old black and white scary movies from the 30's and handing out movie candy as others trick or treat at our house. Fun, fun! :D

Hope everyone has a wonderful weekend as well. Much love.

Winter Moments...

I can't believe that Fall is here and soon the snow will fall. Winter.

Here in the North East, the rain is falling and my peaceful moments are spent in relaxing pursuits that only take place in the colder seasons.

I'm finishing my third book for this month, crocheting a baby blanket for a co-worker and sewing my first quilt.

I made homemade cookies last week, for the first time all year and thoroughly loved every second of it.

I enjoy these next two seasons best of all and look forward to the joy they bring to our home life. :) HUGS

August moments...

After speaking with loved ones tonight, I was reminded of the very little bit of blogging I do these days. To write, I must feel expressive. Having time to think and reflect, gathering together cohesive thoughts to share. These days life is much more like a whirlwind that settles on a spot briefly before it carries me to another task. But tonight, I thought, I will at least share what is new and changing in our world.

Alex is amazing us with her current drawing ability. Adam came in the other night and asked, "Have you seen what Alex has been drawing lately? She's amazing." I smiled and replied, "Yes, I told her that and she thinks I'm being kind because she's younger." It's amazing. Tomorrow sometime I'll try to scan some of them to post to the blog.

Sam has just finished Cheerleading Day Camp. I had to take her back and forth to Potsdam twice a day, three days in a row last week, but it was worth it. She had the time of her life. She's so excited to start High School this year. Only four years left...and she will be off to college. Amazing how time flies.

Which would be the point of my thoughts for the month of August to the right of this post.

Time is flying by now that the girls are older. Adam and I talk a lot about our plans for the future. We find ourselves setting new dreams for the years to come. Adam calls me his Silver Fox. (I'm greying rather quickly.) But I find that I LOVE getting older. What is that!?!?! Age brings this sense of peace and knowledge of who you are as a person. What you've accomplished and what you know you are capable of.

Thus the picture from the deck of a cabin in Maine. One of the places I have yet to go in the USA. :) I dream of a small cabin, off the water with a lovely deck. Sipping coffee in my robe and watching boats go by as the leaves subtly turn orange and rustle to the ground. Dreams keep us alive and young. Adam and I hope to dream together when we are little old people. It helps keep us focused on why we do what we are doing now. The future is the end result from the hard work of today.

Hope this finds you all dreaming, planning and living life to it's fullest! We are only given one go around, live it well! Much, much love.

The 4th of July

We all met at Mom & Dad Conn's house for a 4th of July bbq. It was delicious and so comfortable. Their new deck is really a lovely outdoor living space. And Mom's backyard is the most beautiful of gardens. I walked around taking a few up close pictures of my favs. It was such a peaceful afternoon...thank you for a wonderful time Mom & Dad. (((HUGS)))
