One day I put in a lovely corn bread to bake and after ten minutes, I knew something wasn't right. I opened the oven door to find my cornbread completely blackened on top (:O oh NO!) and my new bread pan...melting from the severe heat. I realized the oven couldn't be shut off. So, I flipped the breaker and left her there. (While I aired out the house.) I couldn't believe my long time baking buddy was gone. :( We have lived in this house for 9 1/2 years and the stove came with it. She was brand new at the time.
After work last night, I went out to buy my first new stove. The salesman tried to sell me on several higher priced models, with cool new features and different size burners for different size pans, but there was a sweet simple one on the end that I just loved. It had a large oven and heavier door than the others. A nice glass top and I thought...she's the one! :D I purchased her and left knowing that she would be delivered on Saturday.
The family has requested such favorites as walnut/chocolate chip cookies, biscotti and lasagna. There will be fresh baked bread in our house again on Sunday morning as I cook my first batch of kefir rolls in months! I'm thrilled.
Thank God for His blessings on our home, to Adam for working so hard to provide for us all and for skills I learned from my Nannies and Moms. (((HUGS)))

Let me know when the baking is complete and I will be happy to judge the outcome of your labor.
Tonight is Lasagna, cheese garlic bread and homemade chocolate chip/walnut cookies! :D We are all very excited. Running the oven on it's clean cycle right now. Can't wait to get cooking.
Love it! It's nice knowing that you ran the other one into the ground because it makes the new one so well deserved!
Happy baking!
Andrea,
I just love it! :D We had a big breakfast around the table this morning and talked and talked. We haven't done that in a while. It was a blast.
Adam said that it's official, the stove was not for me, but the rest of the family! :)
Sammie said, "That's how a Mom should be...in an apron making yummy food." I smiled and said, "Yes, that's what we moms enjoy the most."
